If You Want to be Rich and Happy, Don’t Go to School Summary - Chapter 22

Chapter 22: Unlearning the Lessons That Keep You Down

1.      The following seven points are my personal prescription on how do we change, a prescription which got me out of the deepest rut of my life and which continues to serve me today:
a.       Do something strange (i.e., try to adopt a new policy of saying yes to something we would ordinarily say no to at least once a week, so to awake us from living on an “automatic pilot” mode)
b.      Create new friends (i.e., we can expand ourselves with new friends)
c.       Attend investment course – go to courses not for “final answers”, but for the expansion of your thinking.
d.      Un-learn how to read – rely on visual, but not auditory reading which was taught in school (and that will make you read much faster). If you cannot read today, your chances for success are greatly diminished. If you can only read slowly you are falling behind.
e.       Change jobs more often. If you really want to make your future brighter, look for jobs that challenge you. If you are terrified of sales, get a job selling. Join network marketing.
f.       Find emotional mentors – they will be your personal consultants.

g.      Attend seminars of every kind
