If You Want to be Rich and Happy, Don’t Go to School
Ensuring Lifetime Security for Yourself and Your Children

Author: Robert Kiyosaki & Hal Zina Bennett

Foreword

In our society an understanding of money is absolutely required. Without this basic knowledge, anything else we might teach in our schools is undermined.

However, students that can score straight “A’s” throughout twelve, sixteen or more years of education yet still not have even a basic understanding of those money-oriented skills that we need to survive and prosper in our society; no to mention the skills of cooperation and good will that we must have if we wish to create a better society.

Chapter 1: Charting a New Course

1.      While the society and technology are changing, education simply isn’t keeping up. The existing school system is meant to equipped people for the needs of the agrarian age.

2.      Our educational system has planted seeds of failure, frustration and financial disaster in our society which will prevent most people from ever coming close to achieving their true potential.

3.      Often, the seeds of failure are planted in the form of phrases that few of us would find objectionable: “Be good”, “Do as you’re told”, “No, you’re wrong”, “This is the right answer”, “Don’t make mistake”, or “If you do well in school, you’re sure to succeed in life”.

4.      Why does Madonna make $20 million in a year and a college-educated teacher only $25,000? We look at these obvious contradictions and instantly know that something isn’t right about what we are taught.

5.      We are hypnotized from infancy by the society into which we are born. In adulthood, our prime task is de-hypnotization and enlightenment. Given that this is so, let us begin.
